Frederic Remington's paintings played a foremost role in the building of the Old West myth such as it is perceived still today.

Indians, soldiers, the imposing landscapes of the West and -of course- cowboys, were gloriously captured by Remington's eyes and masterfully recreated in drawings and paintings of inspiring, impressionist palette. These,together with his series of bronzes full of movement and panache, fully succeeded in casting an indelible image of the West and its lore that would be later exploited in the movie westerns of the past century.

This stunning new bronze by Fernando Andrea is closely based on a Remington's lithograph from 1901: "Arizona Cowboy" depicting j a seasoned cowboy in full western regalia and staring at the endless Arizona plain astride his Old West cayuse: these small, strong and resilient mounts favored by the real cowboys and so magnificently portrayed by Remington.

Now, 124 years later, the rugged beauty of the West and the essence of cowboy life has been masterfully recaptured in this new bronze with full expressiveness and painstaking attention to detail.
